I read this novel because our ten year old grandson was reading it, and we like to discuss books. He had said that he had trouble putting it down and raved about how exciting it was, and he was right. This is a terrific story of morals, intrigue, and coming of age. We both would highly recommend it.

Rivals was a great follow up to Baseball Great, for which it provided new challenges that included physical skills and moral values. I give this book four stars (out of 5) because it kept me going and even though it wasn't written great it was good enough. I would recommend this book to whoever likes sports(especially baseball), moral and physical challenges and a good, fast read!

Great book with excellent storyline. My son is enthusiastic to read every night!!

First of all, he says that they stay at a separate campground. The players actually stay in the dreams park in bunks. Ex. I stayed in 10A. Second, in the end he says the score is 5-3. Then, the main character hits a 3-run homerun. Then the main characters friend goes around all of the bases and scores the "winning run", which would make the score 7-5. The author portrays it as the winning run, which in fact, it's not!!!!!!
