About the Author
Pratul Kumar Saraswati is a Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He has been teaching micropaleontology, paleontology and petroleum geosciences related courses for the past 25 years. As a biostratigrapher in Oil and Natural Gas Corporation he was also involved in hydrocarbon exploration in India.

M. S. Srinivasan is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Geology at Banaras Hindu University. He established the micropaleontology laboratory at BHU and initiated both teaching and research programme in micropaleontology and paleoceanography. His active participation in the Deep Sea Drilling Project (DSDP) and other international scientific cruises boosted deep sea research in India.

At age 10, O'Neal became the youngest Oscar winner in history for her performance in Paper Moon. In this honest, disturbing memoir, O'Neal, now 41, reveals the behind-the-scenes story of her lonely, chaotic life—one dominated by struggles with drugs and damaging relationships. O'Neal portrays her divorced parents (actors Joanna Moore and Ryan O'Neal) as neglectful and abusive, with drug problems of their own. Though O'Neal appeared in such kid-fodder movies as The Bad News Bears and Little Darlings, she says that during the '70s and early '80s she battled depression and attempted suicide. "I found that coke made me feel so much better," she recounts in the straightforward though unoriginal language that characterizes the narrative. Much of the book's second half covers her fraught marriage to volatile tennis champ John McEnroe; these passages alternate between recollections of the pleasure of being in love and having children and the pain of living with McEnroe, whom she depicts as controlling and demeaning. Ten years and three children later, O'Neal and McEnroe divorced. She resumed using drugs, fought child custody battles and watched her mother die of cancer. Although O'Neal speeds through the details, she addresses her addictions: "I wanted to take my own life but... instead... I started doing drugs 24/7. I couldn't stop." She also zips through her recovery, abruptly claiming "rebirth" in the final chapter. Writing this memoir seems to have been cathartic for O'Neal. About the Author
Educated at Harvard and Columbia, John McMurry has taught approximately 17,000 students in general and organic chemistry over a 30-year period. A Professor of Chemistry at Cornell University since 1980, Dr. McMurry previously spent 13 years on the faculty at the University of California at Santa Cruz. He has received numerous awards, including the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship (1969-71), the National Institute of Health Career Development Award (1975-80), the Alexander von Humboldt Senior Scientist Award (1986-87), and the Max Planck Research Award (1991). Professor of Chemistry Robert C. Fay has been teaching general and inorganic chemistry at Cornell University since 1962. Known for his clear, well-organized lectures, Dr. Fay was the 1980 recipient of the Clark Distinguished Teaching Award. He has also taught as a visiting professor at Harvard University and the University of Bologna, Italy. He has been an NSF Science Faculty Fellow at the University of East Anglia and the University of Sussex, England, and a NATO/Heineman Senior Fellow at Oxford University.

Amazing indepth and thorough analysis of AbleTrend trading system.

This is an excellent approach to the concept of trading in any market and a particularly elegant method of trading the financial markets. The author has done an incredible work in explaining the "basic" laws of the universe in how to apply them in trading. It is worth every penny of it.

This book clearly defines how to use abletrend for the long term. Overall it shows that abletrend is great software to help you pick those long term trends. This software will not help you get rich quick it will however help you make informed decisions over the long term with an existing strategy. For example I use able trend to achieve 100 pips per day while trading the forex markets. I do not always achieve my goal but 3 out of 5 days I can hit my goal with some real consistency. Overall this system has really helped me trade well for the long term.

It is an interesting book. The author did spend time and effort to develop the system. It is yet for the users to judge if the system works.

Good book

It is abut Trend Following, placing stops at a point somewhat above previoous high or low tradijng site, lots of examples, & unfortunately the author writes like one talks rather than like one should wreite i.e. recircles or repeats what has been said. the 268 pagers could be edited down to perhaps 50 pages. Normally retired older patients present their illness story three to five times, a retired Professor perhaps twice, a retired Navy Captain "ONCE" & I hacve been taught to say what you are going to say, say it, & summarize what you said, aas such I find "lwritting like you talk" a time waister.

I am a position trader & use the AbleTrend software on daily & weekly charts. The assistance in seeing clear support & resistance levels, & the guidance & discipline in setting precise stops is invaluable. Losses are small & easy to handle. I naturally get stopped out by the market at the right time & I am perfectly ok with that. Also the system keeps me in long enough to make profits much larger than the losses. I love the clarity & simplicity expressed in the book & in the AbleTrend software. It helps me trade relaxed, clear & without fear.

I expected this to be an infomercial for their indicator, and for the most part that is the case. There is some good info on trend and the logic behind quantifying a trend.There is some very useful I formation on how to trade their indicator that could be applied to a lot of other trend indicators as well.Based on what I read in this book, most people that I've seen trading this indicator, or its many imitators, are using it the wrong way.

C.Y. Her research interests include logistic regression, missing data methods, and statistical computing using SAS, SPSS, BMDP, Minitab, CLUSTAN, Systat, and S+. She has published more than 50 refereed articles, book chapters, technical reports, and encyclopedia entries on applied statistics, psychometrics, and statistical computing. She is the author or co-author of two books on using SAS® for statistical analyses and received one BEST PAPER Award at a SAS® users annual conference. She has taught applied statistics and data analysis courses at major Research I universities for the past 20 years, including University of Wisconsin, University of Iowa, University of North Carolina, and Indiana University. She is a member of the American Statistical Association, American Educational Research Association, American Psychological Association, and the SAS Users Group International.
